Whether you're looking for inspiration for a winter dinner or want to prepare a tea to warm you up after a long walk, these recipes are perfect for cold days.


From creamy soups and filling casseroles to warming tea with orange and cloves, all of these dishes are created with winter rituals in mind. Each recipe is simple to prepare and full of ingredients that are associated with winter relaxation. 1. Roasted roasted beet cream soup with horseradish


What you need:

  • 4 large beets

  • 1 onion, 1 carrot, 1 potato

  • 1 liter of vegetable broth

  • 2-3 tablespoons of cream

  • 1-2 tbsp grated horseradish

  • Salt, pepper, oil


How to prepare:

  1. Roast the sliced beets at 180°C for 40 minutes.

  2. Fry onion, carrot and potato, add broth and cook until soft.

  3. Add beets, blitz the whole thing to a smooth cream, add horseradish and cream.

  4. serve with a little cream and fresh herbs.


2. Potato casserole with mushrooms and rosemary


What you need:

  • 1 kg of potatoes, 300 g of mushrooms

  • 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic

  • 1 tsp rosemary, 250 ml cream, 150 g cheese

  • Salt, pepper, oil


How to prepare:

  1. Boil potatoes, fry onions with mushrooms.

  2. Arrange potatoes, mushrooms and cheese in layers in a dish. Pour cream over the top.

  3. Bake for 40 minutes at 180°C until the casserole is browned.


3. Beef stew with spices


What you need:

  • 500 g beef, 1 onion, 2 carrots

  • 1 l of broth, cinnamon, cloves, rosemary

  • Oil, salt, pepper, flour


How to prepare:

  1. Fry meat dusted with flour, add vegetables and spices.

  2. Pour in broth, cook 1.5-2 hours, until meat is tender.

  3. Serve with potatoes or grits.


4. Roasted vegetables with ginger and honey


What you need:

  • 3 carrots, 2 beets, 2 parsnips, 2 yams

  • Ginger, honey, oil, salt, pepper


How to prepare:

  1. Slice vegetables, mix with ginger, honey and oil.

  2. Bake at 200°C for 40 minutes.


5. Shortbread spice cookies (Recipe from Thermomix)


What you need:

  • 250 g wheat flour

  • 100 g butter (cooled, cut into pieces)

  • 70 g powdered sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon of allspice (or a mixture: cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg)

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • A pinch of salt


How to prepare:

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, butter, powdered sugar, egg, allspice, baking powder and salt. Knead all ingredients with your hands or with a mixer until you have a smooth, uniform dough.

  2. Form a ball from the dough, wrap in cling film and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

  3. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 3-5 mm.

  4. Cut out cookies with molds and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

  5. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, until they are slightly golden on the edges. After baking, cool on the griddle.

  6. Optionally dust with powdered sugar or decorate with icing.


Fun fact: Spicy cookies develop a deeper flavor over time - perfect for storing in a jar for long winter evenings!


6. Winter tea with orange, cinnamon and cloves


What you need:

  • 1 liter of water

  • 2 bags of black tea (or leaf tea, such as Earl Grey)

  • 1 orange (sliced)

  • 1 stick of cinnamon

  • 4-5 cloves

  • 1 piece of fresh ginger (about 2 cm, sliced)

  • 1-2 tablespoons of honey (to taste)

  • Optional: star anise or lemon slice for additional flavor


How to prepare:

  1. Pour water into a pot and add cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 5 minutes.

  2. Add the tea and orange slices, steep the whole thing for another 3-4 minutes (or longer if you want a more intense flavor).

  3. Remove the tea bags and add honey. Stir to dissolve.

  4. Pour into cups, adding a slice of orange each and optionally a lemon slice or anise star for decoration.


Fun fact: Cloves and cinnamon have warming properties and support immunity - perfect for winter days!
